The Playlist
Mission Statement:
Bring Christian and non-Christian songs together to create "The Soundtrack to Your Day!"
No biggie then! Seriously, compiling the Lighthouse NetCast playlist has been so much fun. But it's also been a lot of hard work.

The Sample Playlist Selection on this page gives you a good idea of the sort of music we play. We like to mix the Christian songs with the non-Christian in a way that demonstrates how Christian music can fit into the wider world of pop, and how everyday pop music has its place in the Christian world too. In fact, these two worlds are actually the same place!
We try not to play anything too heavy during the mainstream shows but expect many of our songs to mention God and His love. Of course, Sundays are a big day for us, as such we'll include some of the worship and praise songs that you might hear in a modern Baptist Church service. Monday to Saturday, we don't hide our faith but understand this, on Sundays we shout about it! So we go All Christian from 7am-10pm, UK time.
Our non-Christian music offers real variety. Some of the songs may be mistaken for Christian songs (check out Hoobastank - The Reason) and we've chosen them for that very reason. Some of the songs are chosen for the good-natured lyrics and some simply because they're really good songs! But you won't hear any badly edited swearing, inappropriate lyrics or anything that you wouldn't want your children to copy in the street.
We carefully check the lyrics of songs before they make it onto our playlist. We're aware that some songs are left to personal interpratation but we choose to hear through Christian ears.
Some of the artists on our non-Christian playlist may hold views that are contrary to the Christian faith and perhaps sometimes act in ways some would deem inappropriate. But who are we to judge? If we ruled out anyone who hasn't led a perfect life, we'd have a very short playlist indeed! Each song is simply chosen on its merit.
But, if we're playing a song that you don't think has any place on our playlist, please email and tell us why. Or perhaps you've got a song suggestion for our playlist? We're always pleased to receive suggestions whether they're Christian or non-Christian songs. Please do email!
